Uptons reach 100 career homers on same night

B.J. and Justin Upton reached milestones on the same night when the brothers each hit their 100th career home runs on Friday.

The Uptons became the first siblings to reach that mark on the same day, and the sixth pair overall, according to ESPN.

Justin Upton of the Arizona Diamondbacks hit his 100th career homer at 7:21 ET against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Less than an hour later, Tampa Bay Ray B.J. Upton reached the milestone at Tropicana Field against the visiting Baltimore Orioles at 8:16 p.m.

Justin Upton, 27, hit his home run off Kyle Kendrick in the second inning while B.J. Upton, 24, got his off Tommy Hunter in the fourth inning.

It was the 13th time in their careers that the Uptons have homered on the same day, including 10 times since the start of last year.

Five other pairs of brothers have hit 100 career homers: Roberto and Sandy Alomar, Aaron and Bret Boone, Clete and Ken Boyer, Joe and Vince DiMaggio, and Bob and Irish Meusel.
