The Ultimate Fighter will soon serve as a lead-in to one of the top nights in all of television for FX networks.
The show will also move to a new 9 p.m. start time, shifting away from its current 10 p.m. slot occupied on Friday nights on FX.
The move will now land The Ultimate Fighter as a lead-in to the popular FX drama “Justified,” which returns on Jan. 8 for its newest season at 10 p.m.
The Timothy Olyphant led drama is one of FX's biggest shows, and routinely draws very good ratings including last season's finale topping 2.6 million viewers.
The Ultimate Fighter will then become the lead-in to an even bigger hit on Tuesday nights in September when the No. 1 rated FX show “Sons of Anarchy” returns for its sixth season.
The outlaw biker drama is FX's top-rated program, routinely pulling in well over three million viewers, with some episodes topping five million viewers throughout the 13-episode run.
The Ultimate Fighter debuts on Jan. 22 for its 17th season with coaches Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen squaring off in their fight on April 27 in New Jersey.
