John Tuck showed his skill on the ground, controlling Tiequan Zhang on his way to a decision win at UFC Macao on Saturday.

Tuck stayed undefeated as the judges saw him winning with scores of 29-28, 30-27 and 29-28.

"It feels awesome," Tuck said after securing his seventh win.

Zhang scored a huge takedown early, but Tuck recovered and nearly locked an armbar. After a transition that had him in an inverted triangle, Tuck was able to get Zhang's back. Another transition had Tuck going from mount to side control and back to Zhang's back. Just before the end of the round, Zhang was able to escape and get back to the feet, but it was Tuck that dominated the round.

The second round began with the two trading on the feet. After a flying knee, Zhang scored the takedown and worked from guard. Tuck was able to reverse position and controlled his opponent from the top. After working from mount, Tuck secured Zhang's back again where he worked to make something happen, but his opponent wouldn't allow for any progress for the rest of the round.

Tuck's arms were hanging low to begin the third, which allowed Zhang to turn up the aggression with the strikes. Zhang continued pressing forward as Tuck appeared slower. After dominating his opponent on the ground for the first two rounds, Tuck's only offense was an occasional jab and flailing punches. Just before the time expired, the two traded punches and kicks to the delight of the crowd.

Tuck stays undefeated and improves to 7-0. Zhang drops his third in a row after winning his first UFC fight.
