UFC on FX 3 Predictions: Fan's Take

Joseph Benavidez will finally find out who he'll face in the final round of the Ultimate Fighting Championship's flyweight tournament when Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall get it on at "UFC on FX 3." The event will take place on June 8, at the BankAtlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Here are my predictions for the entire UFC on FX 3 fight card:

    Demetrious Johnson versus Ian McCall

The first fight between the two was an instant classic, and I expect more of the same at UFC on FX 3. Johnson got the better of the striking exchanges during their first encounter. But McCall did impress me with his takedowns, keeping Johnson on the ground for the majority of the third round. However, Johnson has had enough time to make the necessary adjustments, and I expect his takedown defense to be a little better this time around. I'm pretty sure it'll be a very close fight, but the "Mighty Mouse" should emerge victorious. Johnson wins via decision.

    Erick Silva versus Charlie Brenneman

Silva got a raw deal in his last bout against Carlo Prater, and he'll be eager to get his career back on track. Brenneman is a solid wrestler, but taking Silva to the ground and keeping him there is no easy task. Silva should be able to keep the fight standing, where he clearly has a huge advantage. Silva wins via TKO.

    Mike Pyle versus Josh Neer

Neer survived a few tough moments during his last fight against Duane Ludwig, eventually getting the fight to the ground and securing a guillotine choke. He'll be in for another tough fight against Pyle, but he should be up to the task. Neer wins via decision.

    Eddie Wineland versus Scott Jorgensen

Wineland is currently on a two fight losing streak, but he should be able to turn things around when he faces Jorgensen at UFC on FX 3. Wineland is the better striker, and his takedown defense isn't too shabby. Wineland wins by decision.

    Undercard:

    Lance Benoist defeats Seth Baczynski

Mike Pierce defeats Carlos Eduardo Rocha

    Leonard Garcia defeats Matt Grice

    Jared Papazian defeats Dustin Pague

    Tim Means defeats Justin Salas

    Buddy Roberts defeats Caio Magalhaes

    Henry Martinez defeats Bernardo Magalhaes

    Sean Pierson defeats Jake Hecht
