UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm Broke Records, On Track for 1 Million-Plus PPVs

Holly Holm No. 2 Behind Ronda Rousey in Top Google Searches for 2015

Regardless of how he felt about the outcome of the Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm main event, UFC president Dana White was very excited about the numbers for UFC 193.

He recently mentioned on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, “This fight broke every record we've ever had from the venue, to merchandise, to commercial pay-per-view, everything.”

He went on to say that Holly Holm was trending No. 1 worldwide, even during the NFL football games on Sunday, the day after the fight. Even with the Green Bay Packers losing and the New England Patriots barely beating the New York Giants with six seconds left, Holm was the talk of the town… or should we say world?

UFC 193 set an attendance record for the promotion, and record gate numbers for Etihad Stadium, where it was held in Melbourne, Australia.

But White was particularly happy about the way the pay-per-view buy numbers were trending.

“The numbers that are rolling in are astronomical,” he said, indicating that the PPV numbers are trending over a million. As Dana put it, UFC 193 “was massive.”

Company CEO Lorenzo Fertitta also recently told Yahoo! Sports that when the final numbers are in, he expects UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm to be the promotion's second largest pay-per-view in company history behind UFC 100, which featured Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir in the main event.
