UFC 180 Results: Ricardo Lamas Submits Dennis Bermudez in the First Round

One of the UFC's longest win streaks came to an end this weekend.

Ricardo Lamas defeated Dennis Bermudez with a first-round submission on the main card at UFC 180 in Mexico City on Saturday.

Lamas caught his opponent with well-placed jab that led to a guillotine submission, earning the win at 3:18 of Round 1.

Bermudez did well in the early stages, applying legkicks and forcing the pace. Lamas kept it competitive by throwing strikes every time he was in the pocket.

The pace, however, changed immediately when Lamas landed a perfectly placed jab as Bermudez attempted to throw a jab of his own. The strike dropped Bermudez, who fell to the floor in a daze.

As his opponent sought to regain his consciousness, Lamas swarmed in and applied a guillotine choke. Bermudez attempted to roll and get out of the hold, only to end up in mount and tap out.

With the win, Lamas improves his record to 15-3 and stops Bermudez's winning streak at seven.
