Ronda Rousey Reveals Her Toughest MMA Fight Thus Far, and It Wasn’t Miesha Tate

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey logged her fasted career finish at UFC 175 on Saturday, dispatching of No. 2 ranked Alexis Davis in just 16 seconds.

Rousey came out in her usual fashion; fast and furious.  The two women met in the center of the octagon, and Davis landed first with a right hand.  Rousey responded with right hook that stunned Davis.  She followed it up with a knee to the face before tossing Davis to the canvas with a judo throw.  Once on top, Rousey unleashed a series of right hands that left Davis wrestling the referee and a Nevada Athletic Commission official following the stoppage.

“I box six days a week. I grapple and wrestler four days a week. I have more to do on my striking so that’s what I work on the most,” said Rousey after the quick finish.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan asked Rousey if she’d be willing to fight in the Aug. 2 UFC 176 main event.  Featherweight champion Jose Aldo was scheduled to defend his title in a rematch with Chad Mendes but was forced out of the fight due to injury

“I’m totally down. I make everything a little harder for every fight. I’m scheduled for knee surgery, but it’s a quick recovery. I’m gonna talk to my coaches, but if they’re down for it, I’m down for it.”

Even with the near-flawless performance, Rousey was critical of herself.

“I got punched once, so I could get better,” she said.
