The Ultimate Fighting Championship handed out $50,000 post-fight bonuses to four fighters following UFC 164 on Saturday at Milwaukee’s Bradley Center.
“Knockout of the Night” honors went to Chad Mendes for his third-round knockout of veteran Clay Guida. In doing so, Mendes becomes the first fighter to score a knockout over Guida.
Lim and Krauss took home “Fight of the Night” for their thrilling preliminary bout that helped set the tone for the main card highlights.
Lim made easy work of Krauss by knocking him out at the 3:58 mark in the first round. Needless to say, the action didn’t last long, but UFC brass felt it was enough to earn the honors.
In addition to defeating Benson Henderson for a second time in order to capture the UFC lightweight championship, Anthony “Showtime” Pettis added “Submission of the Night” honors to his memorable performance.
Pettis hit a smooth transition to lock on a textbook armbar, forcing Henderson to tap and relinquish the championship.
