UFC 155 Prelims End Year on TV Ratings High Note

The UFC ended 2012 on a TV ratings high note.

Saturday night’s UFC 155 preliminary bouts on FX pulled in 1.4 million viewers, according to MMAWeekly.com’s industry sources.

The preliminary bouts, headlined by a battle between Eddie Wineland and Brad Pickett, served as the lead-in for the pay-per-view card featuring the Junior dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez heavyweight championship rematch.

The UFC 155 prelims draw follows the UFC on Fox 5 prelims drawing 1.2 million viewers earlier in December, giving the UFC a strong one-two finish to the year on FX.

The FX prelim broadcasts hit a series high of 1.8 million for UFC 148 in July, but had dropped off significantly ever since, hovering at or just below 1.0 million viewers per event between UFC 148 and UFC on Fox 5.
