LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- Michael Bryson's layup with 1 second left lifted UC Santa Barbara over Long Beach State 65-64 on Thursday.

UCSB led by as much as 13 in the second, but Long Beach (10-14, 6-4) whittled the lead, using a 10-2 run sparked by a 3-pointer by Branford Jones, to tie the game at 60 with 4:35 left on another Jones trey.

The teams were tied at 30, but UCSB's Kyle Boswell drilled a trey, starting a 7-0 run and the Gauchos led 37-30 at intermission.
