Connecticut men's basketball coach Jim Calhoun sustained a fractured hip in a biking accident and was to undergo surgery Saturday night. According to several news reports, the injury occurred Saturday near his home in Madison, Conn., when Calhoun, 70, took a tumble after hitting sand with his bike. School officials said Calhoun was expected to make a full recovery after the surgery in the Uconn Health Center in Farmington. Calhoun missed his Charity Classic All-Star Game on Saturday night in Mohegan Sun Arena that included a number of former Huskies players from his 25 seasons as coach.
