UCLA's Jack of all trades leads 41-31 win

PASADENA, Calif. -- It took Myles Jack nine weeks to get his chance to play running back at UCLA.

It has taken the talented freshman just two weeks to establish himself as one of the best backs in the Pacific-12 conference.

All while still maintaining his day job as a full-time linebacker.

Jack scored four touchdowns on Friday night as No. 13 UCLA held off Washington 41-31 at the Rose Bowl.

His first three scores put UCLA up 27-7 and his fourth gave the Bruins some breathing room at 34-24 after Washington pulled within three points in the third quarter.

"I really just give the touchdowns to the O-line," Jack said. "The holes were right there. I was just hitting it."

UCLA coach Jim Mora said, "He's a 6-1 kid who can run fast. You see how hard he runs. He gets the extra yards."

Jack finished with 60 yards on 13 carries. The Bruins had 240 yards rushing.

UCLA put Washington away early in the fourth quarter when quarterback Brett Hundley connected with wide receiver Devin Lucien on a 40-yard touchdown to make it 41-24.

Hundley finished with 159 yards and two touchdowns on 13-of-22 passing.

UCLA (8-2, 5-2) won its second straight game and remains firmly entrenched in the race for the Pac-12 South Division title and a spot in the conference championship game.
