United States national team member Geoff Cameron has made his English Premier League debut for Stoke City against Arsenal today.
Stoke manager Tony Pulis named Cameron to his starting eleven, partnering Glenn Whelan in central midfield, while Robert Huth and team captain Ryan Shawcross are preferred in central defense, the position where Cameron made his national team breakthrough.
Pulis has previously spoken of the possibility of using Cameron at multiple positions, saying before the Attleboro, Mass. native signed, "We think he's a player who can cope with the Premier League. "I think he's played full-back as well and it's always nice to have players who can play in more than one position."
