Tyreke Evans put up 25 points and notched 10 assists and six rebounds in a tremendous all-around performance to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a close victory over the Houston Rockets, 105-100. The Pelicans had a strong shooting performance, finishing 43-82 (52.4%) from the field, including 6-12 (50.0%) from beyond the arc. New Orleans (34-48) has won just two of its last 10 games.
Evans finished 11-20 from the field. Austin Rivers chipped in 18 points and eight assists for New Orleans as well. Despite the loss, Troy Daniels scored 22 points for Houston on 8-16 shooting, including 6-11 from behind the arc. Donatas Motiejunas added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Pelicans combined an eFG% of 56.1% with 50.0% 3-point shooting. They are 8-1 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Rockets, on the other hand, are 3-8 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.
This ends a three-game winning streak for Houston (54-28) versus New Orleans.
