Two men convicted of killing Wright State football player
A jury on Friday convicted two men for killing Wright State football player Cortez Smith outside a Detroit nightclub in 2011.
Quintin King was found guilty of first-degree murder and six counts of assault with intent to murder. Anton Blevins was convicted of second-degree murder and six counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm.
Smith, a junior who was majoring in criminal justice was a cornerback and the Warriors' rookie of the year in 2010. He was shot twice during an argument in the nightclub's parking lot.
Sentencing for King and Blevins has been scheduled for March 12.
