Friday's series opener between the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins at U.S. Cellular Field has been postponed due to cold weather.
It is the third game this week involving the Twins that has been called off because of weather.
The Twins' home games against the New York Mets last Sunday (snow) and against the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday (rain and snow) were also postponed.
No makeup date for Friday's washout has been announced. It is the first time in five years that cold weather has caused a postponement at U.S. Cellular Field -- also against the Twins.
The White Sox are 7-9 while the Twins are 6-7. Jake Peavy (2-1, 3.93 ERA) was scheduled to matchup against Minnesota's Vance Worley (0-2, 10.50).
