    Troutman passes 1,000 as Elon tops Samford 77-66

    ELON, N.C. (AP) -- Lucas Troutman scored 26 points to pass 1,000 for his career and lead Elon to a 77-66 victory over Samford in a Southern Conference game on Saturday.

    Troutman also pulled down 10 rebounds.

    Jack Isenbarger contributed 22 points for the Phoenix (15-7, 8-2), who won their seventh in a row, the longest streak since winning seven straight in the 2005-06 season.

    Isenbarger passed the 1,000-point threshold on Jan. 24 in a victory over Chattanooga.

    Connor Miller scored 21, Tim Miller had 19 and Clide Geffrard Jr. added 17 points and 11 rebounds for Samford (7-15, 5-4), which has lost three in a row, all on the road.

    Elon outscored Samford 28-18 in the paint and 19-7 in points off turnovers.

    Samford scored the first five points of the second half to close to 45-43, but Elon stretched it to 53-43 on Isenbarger's 3-pointer and kept Samford at bay.
