Recommendation: It sounds all but official that Richardson is getting the scope, but it appears as though he has a shot to be ready for Week 1, though whether or not that would entail him being limited at all early on, remains to be seen. In any case, there's now a red flag (not a huge one just yet) attached to Richardson's name, while his backups, Montario Hardesty and Brandon Jackson (and how their anticipated roles shake out) are now worth tracking closely in the coming weeks.
Update: Though it has been reported that Richardson is tentatively scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery Thursday to remove a "hang nail particle" of loose cartilage in his left knee, the rookie back is expected to be available before the Browns' regular-season opener, ESPN.com reports.
