Recommendation: The deal for Hafner is expected to be around $2 million for the season. He will likely be the Yankees' left-handed DH. Another candidate at the DH spot will be Russ Canzler who was claimed off waivers from the Indians in January. Hafner hit .228/.346/.438 with 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 66 games for the Indians last season. He is probably not an option to play in the field as the last time he played at first base was in the 2007 season.
