Transgender MMA Fighter Fallon Fox Improves to 3-0 Against a Game Allanna Jones

Yahoo Contributor Network

COMMENTARY | Transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox improved her professional record to 3-0 on May 24, defeating Allanna Jones via submission during the third round of their CFA 11 encounter.

It was the first time Fallon spent more than two minutes inside the cage as Jones proved to be a worthy opponent, giving Fox a serious run for her money at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla .

Jones seemed to be the technically superior striker, and she got off to a good start at CFA 11, landing some decent shots during the first round. Allanna was also able to stop multiple takedown attempts early on.

However, Fox -- who was clearly the bigger, stronger competitor -- managed to find her groove in the second round, finally putting Jones on her back. She went right back to her grappling during the third round, grounding Jones once again, forcing the tap with a shin to the throat shortly after.

While Fox managed to emerge victorious once again, she didn't win any fans over with her performance at CFA 11. Her strength seemed to be her biggest asset inside the cage, and the fact she threw a punch while Jones attempted to touch gloves during the second round, didn't go unnoticed by hardcore MMA fans.

Earlier in the night, Alexis Vila improved his record to 12-3, dominating Czar Sklavos during their three- rounder. Sean Soriano successfully defended his featherweight title, turning Elvin Brito into a bloody mess on his way to a unanimous decision.

Luis Palomino looked like a beast at CFA 11, knocking Robert Washington out cold early in the first round, while Mike Kyle only needed 21 seconds to knockout Travis Wiuff.
