Trail Blazers 110, Clippers 104

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Guard Will Barton came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points and grab 10 rebounds, and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Los Angeles Clippers 110-104 Wednesday night at Moda Center in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Center Robin Lopez collected 15 points and nine rebounds in 14 minutes, and forward Victor Claver chipped in 12 points -- including eight straight in the final two minutes -- and six rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who enter the playoffs as the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.

Portland (54-28) visits Houston on Sunday night for the opener of its series with the Rockets. The Trail Blazers won nine of their last 10 regular-season games.

Guard Jamal Crawford went for 34 points, eight assists and five rebounds in 42 minutes for the Clippers, the No. 3 seed in the West. Los Angeles (57-25) plays host to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday in a playoff opener.

Forward Matt Barnes had 19 points and eight rebounds, and guard Darren Collison scored 19 points and dished out seven assists for the Clippers.

Portland led by 22 points in the second quarter and was still in front by 16 when the Clippers stormed back, capping a 17-0 run with Crawford's four-point play midway through the third quarter. Moments later, Collison's three-point play gave the visitors the lead at 78-76. The difference increased to 85-79 late in the quarter, with the Clippers -- who outscored Portland 29-8 the last nine minutes of the quarter -- carrying an 85-82 lead into the final period.

Los Angeles was in front 87-84 when Portland rebounded, using a 7-0 spurt to go on top 91-87.

Claver's personal eight-point run -- a three-point play, a 3-point shot and a put-back -- gave the Blazers a 108-100 edge with 1:20 remaining.

Portland jumped out to a 26-12 lead and took a 37-29 advantage into the second quarter. Lopez had 11 points and seven rebounds in the first period.

The Blazers kept rolling in the second quarter, increasing their edge to 68-46 late in the quarter. The Clippers scored the final six points of the period to go into the half down by 16.

NOTES: With the playoffs looming, both coaches chose to rest regulars. The Clippers were without G Chris Paul and G J.J. Redick, plus F Blake Griffin was suspended due to his accumulation of technical fouls. C DeAndre Jordan played just one minute. The Blazers didn't suit F LaMarcus Aldridge and reserve G Mo Williams. The other starters -- C Robin Lopez, F Nicolas Batum, G Damian Lillard and G Wesley Matthews -- all played 12 to 14 minutes. ... G Jamal Crawford played on a sore calf that caused him to miss 13 of the Clippers' last 21 games. ... Portland C/F Joel Freeland, who missed two months with a knee injury finished with six points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes. ... The teams split their first two meetings this season, the Clippers winning 122-117 at home on Feb. 12, the Blazers prevailing 116-112 at home on Feb. 26.
