Towson guard Four McGlynn continued his stellar play in the College Insider Tournament and the Tigers advanced to the quarterfinals with an 83-77 victory over East Tennessee State on Friday night in Johnson City, Tenn. McGlynn, whose 55-foot shot at the buzzer gave Towson (25-10) a 63-60 victory at South Carolina Upstate in the opening round, led the Tigers with 23 points. He went 6 of 7 from the field -- all from 3-point range -- and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. Three other Tigers finished in double figures, with guard Mike Burwell scoring 13 points and guard Rafael Guthrie 12. Forward Jerrelle Benimon had 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Towson fell behind 12-2 early and trailed 18-6 after Buccaneers guard Rayshawn Rembert made a 3-pointer with 14:34 to play in the half. But once the Tigers got settled in their second consecutive road game, there was no stopping them. Towson led 40-34 at the half. The Tigers extended the margin to 15 in the second half, but poor free throw shooting down the stretch let the Buccaneers back in the game. Towson went 5 of 11 from the stripe during one stretch in the final five minutes, allowing East Tennessee to pull within 79-75 on a 3-pointer by Rembert with 22 seconds left. But McGlynn made four free throws in the final 17 seconds to secure the victory. Rembert's 17 points led ETSU. Four other players finished in double figures.
