TOWSON, Md. -- Junior forward Jerrelle Benimon posted his 16th double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Towson to an 81-68 victory over UNC-Wilmington on Monday night at the Towson Center.
Benimon made 8 of 10 shots from the field and had three assists, two steals and one blocked shot for the Tigers (12-12, 7-4 Colonial Athletic Association), who have won two in a row. Benimon has eight double-doubles in the past 10 games.
Four players scored in double figures for Towson. Freshman guard Jerome Hairston had 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field. Junior swingman Rafriel Guthrie came off the bench to score 14 points. Junior forward Marcus Damas had 12 points and five rebounds.
Senior reserve forward Keith Rendleman registered 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Seahawks (8-14, 3-7), who have lost three in a row and four of five. Freshman guard Craig Ponder scored 12 points, and junior forward Shane Reybold and freshman guard Chris Dixon had 11 points apiece.
Towson shot 52.6 percent from the field and held the Seahawks to 39.7 percent.
