Towson 73, James Madison 47

TOWSON, Md. -- Five players scored in double figures, propelling Towson to a 73-47 victory over James Madison in a Colonial Athletic Association game on Saturday at the Towson Center.

Freshman guard Jerome Hairston, junior forward Jerrelle Benimon and senior center Bilal Dixon each scored 13 points for the Tigers (10-9, 5-1 in the CAA), who have won six of their last seven games.

Benimon also grabbed 11 rebounds, posting his 13th double-double of the season. Dixon had eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Senior guard Ailoune Diouf scored 11 points for the Dukes (9-10, 3-3), who have lost four of their last six games.

James Madison led, 21-19, after Diouf hit a 3-pointer with 4:34 left in the opening half, but Towson answered with a 10-0 run to go ahead, 29-21.

The Tigers led 31-28 at halftime and opened the second half with a 9-2 run to build a 40-30 with 15:01 remaining. They continued to pull away with reserves on the floor late in the second half, going up by as many as 28 points.

The Tigers shot 45.5 percent from the field while holding the Dukes to 25.5 percent. Towson also amassed a 40-26 rebounding advantage.
