Freshman guard Jerome Hairston and junior forward Marcus Damas scored 17 points apiece, helping host Towson conclude the season with a 67-64 victory over Hofstra on Saturday at Towson Center.

Junior forward Jerrelle Benimon posted his 20th double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Tigers (18-13, 13-5 Colonial Athletic Association), who are ineligible for postseason play because of academic sanctions imposed by the NCAA. The Tigers won four in a row and eight of nine to end the season, finishing with 18 wins a year after going 1-31.

Senior guard Stevie Mejia scored a game-high 22 points and sophomore forward Moussa Kone added 20 for Hofstra (7-24, 4-14), which has lost six of seven. The Pride will play second-seeded Delaware in the opening round of the CAA tournament March 9.

Hofstra led 55-53 with 4:17 to go, but Towson took control with a 9-0 run. The Tigers shot 43.1 percent from the field, made 7 of 18 from 3-point range and converted on 16-of-22 free-throw opportunities.

The Pride shot 47.1 percent, made 7 of 20 from beyond the arc and went 9 for 9 at the foul line.
