Nicki Stricker has caddied for her husband Steve before, including this 2001 TOUR event in Milwaukee.
They have proven to be a pretty successful duo — on and off the golf course. And this week at The Greenbrier Classic, Nicki Stricker steps back inside the ropes to caddie for her husband Steve during the PGA TOUR event.
Nicki, whose father Dennis Tiziani is Stricker’s long-time swing coach, caddied for Stricker from the time he turned pro in 1994 until the couple became parents in 1998. He won twice during that stretch. She caddied again on other select occasions, including the Greater Milwaukee Open and during the Par-3 Contest at the Masters.
Stricker wasn’t originally scheduled to play in The Greenbrier Classic so his regular caddie, Jimmy Johnson, had the week off. But after playing in the U.S. Open, his own charity event and Luke Donald’s charity tournament, Stricker decided to skip the AT&T National.
"So I didn’t get much rest," he wrote in a text to Gary D’Amato of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I added Greenbrier because I’m trying to make that Ryder Cup team."
Stricker, who won the season-opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions, is one week away from trying for a four-peat at the John Deere Classic. He will play with Tiger Woods and Webb Simpson in the first two rounds at the Old White TPC this week.
