Ian Poulter’s fist pump is becoming a familiar sight.
Poulter, who helped lead the Europeans to a Ryder Cup victory in September, celebrated again on Sunday with another fist pump after saving par on the 72nd hole for a 7-under 65 and a two-shot victory at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shenzhen, China.
Poulter trailed by four strokes entering the final round, but quickly made up ground. He would finish at 21-under 267 overall on the Olazabal Course at Mission Hills.
It was the Englishman’s second WGC victory — he also captured the Accenture Match Play Championship in 2010.
“It’s just so nice to get my hands on another trophy,” Poulter told Golf Channel afterward.
Lee Westwood (72) and Louis Oosthuizen (72) finished a shot further back at 18-under 270.
