FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Sergio Garcia, who won earlier this week, and Nick Watney, who hasn’t won all year, share the lead heading into Saturday’s third round of The Barclays.

Garcia, winner of the weather-delayed Wyndham Championship on Monday, shot a 3-under 68 to finish the first two rounds at the Bethpage State Park Black Course at 8 under. That ties him with Watney, who shot a 2-under 69.

Vijay Singh, the 2008 FedExCup champion, shot a 4-under 67 and is tied for third with Bob Estes, whose lone win on the PGA TOUR came in 2006. Estes shot a 5-under 66.

John Senden and Pat Perez are tied for fifth at 6 under. Tiger Woods and Rickie Fowler are among the players at 5 under.

With the cutline at 1 over, several players who started this week outside the top 100 in points have been officially eliminated from the FedExCup Playoffs. They include: Kevin Chappell, Davis Love III, Robert Allenby, Colt Knost, Harrison Frazar, Jerry Kelly, Boo Weekley, Heath Slocum and Jason Bohn.
