AKRON, Ohio – Jim Furyk has moved to the top of the leaderboard with a successful 30-footer for eagle at the second hole, which was his 11th of the day.
Furyk, who is 6 under, had an interesting first nine holes. He birdied his first two holes, bogeyed No. 12 and then closed with three more birdies to turn in 31.
Tiger Woods, meanwhile, has moved up the leaderboard with birdie putts of 8 and 6 feet on Nos. 10 and 11, respectively. The seventh-time Bridgestone Invitational champion is 3 under.
