Tour Report: Featured groups for first two rounds

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Here’s a look at some of the featured groups at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic . Let us know which groups you’re looking forward to following (tee times will be released this afternoon).

Stewart Cink, Davis Love III – There are five players in the field who have won majors, and two of those are in this group.

Justin Leonard, Scott Verplank – These two veteran pros from Texas would love nothing more than to claw their way inside the top 125 on the money list (though both have career money exemptions if needed).

Stuart Appleby, Robert Allenby – Of these two veteran Australians, Allenby is safely inside the top 125 on the money list, but Appleby is not, as he still seeks his first top-10 finish of the year.

Jonas Blixt, Matt Every – No player in the first three Fall Series events has putted better than Blixt, who has gained nearly nine strokes on the greens than the rest of his competitors.

Gary Woodland, Camilo Villegas – Villegas has never finished worse than No. 77 on the money list in any of his previous six years on TOUR, but he enters this week at No. 150. Woodland is outside the top 125, but he’s exempt through 2013.

Rod Pampling, Billy Mayfair – Pampling is No. 124 on the money list; Mayfair is No. 125. Yes, it’s a precarious spot to be in this week, as each hopes to secure his TOUR card for next year.

Brendon de Jonge, Will Claxton – In his previous two Fall Series starts, de Jonge has posted top-5 finishes each time. He has the lowest stroke average of any player in the Fall this year at 66.13.
