WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. — Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have never both missed the cut when both were in the field at the same event in their professional careers.
The only time it did happen was when Woods was an amateur at the 1993 HP Byron Nelson Championship.
However, with Mickelson already in the clubhouse at 2 over and likely headed toward a missed cut, and Woods 1 over through his first three holes today and 2 over for the tournament, it could happen.
Should Woods miss the cut, it would be his second of the year. The last time he missed two cuts in the same season: 2005 when he missed the cut at the HP Byron Nelson Championship and the FUNAI Classic at the Walt Disney World Resort.
