Jason Bohn is seeking his first win since the 2010 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Jason Bohn has set the early pace at the True South Classic.
Bohn shot a bogey-free, 8-under 64 in the first round at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss., turning in 33 before carded a tidy 5-under 31 on the back nine.
Bohn held a one-shot lead over former Illinois athlete Luke Guthrie — who carded a 65 in his third event on the PGA TOUR — and a two-shot lead over a host of players, including Ryuji Imada (66) and Jason Gore (66).
The afternoon wave was in the process of teeing off.
Bohn has only one top 25 this season and ranks 157th in FedExCup points.
Guthrie, who recently graduated from Illinois, recorded a T19 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic and a T5 at last week’s John Deere Classic in his only other PGA TOUR events.
