Tour Report: Late afternoon leaderboard update

CARMEL, Ind. — Rory McIlroy, bidding for his second straight FedExCup Playoffs victory, birdied his final two holes to move into a four-way tie for the lead at the BMW Championship.

McIlroy is tied with Webb Simpson, Graham DeLaet and Bo Van Pelt, who grew up about an hour away from Crooked Stick, all shot 64s. McIlroy the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday to take over No. 1 in the FedExCup standings.

At the other end of the standings, DeLaet is trying to play his way into to the 30 who will advance to the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola at the end of the BMW Championship. He started the week ranked 60th.

Tiger Woods, who is third in the FedExCup, is finished, one shot off the pace. Ryan Palmer has posted a 66 while Ryan Moore and Vijay Singh are also  at 6 under with one hole and three holes remaining, respectively.
