Francesco Totti says Roma will treat its Coppa Italia final against rival Lazio like a Champions League final.
The Giallorossi captain knows what another trophy would mean to the club, especially with the team likely to miss out on the Champions League for a third consecutive season.
“In the Italian Cup final on May 26, we will play against Lazio at the same level we would a Champions League final,” Totti told Goal.
Totti continues to chase Silvio Piola’s Serie A goalscoring record, but insists the cup final is more important to him and his team.
“Scoring all those goals is definitely not an easy thing, but my goal is very clear," Totti said.
The forward has spent his whole career with Roma despite rumors of big-money moves to other clubs ever since he made his debut back in 1993. The 36-year-old Totti insists he wouldn't change a thing about his time at the Stadio Olimpico.
“Certainly I could have won more trophies if I went somewhere else, but I have never regretted that decision, even for a second of my life. I listened to my heart,” Totti said.
