Tottenham 1-5 Manchester City: Pellegrini's men go top after eighth straight win
Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League for the first time since late December after thrashing 10-man Tottenham 5-1 at White Hart Lane.

Sergio Aguero continued his rich vein of form to fire City into a first-half lead before he succumbed to another hamstring injury.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side coped admirably without its Argentine superstar, however, with Yaya Toure doubling the lead from the penalty spot shortly after the break following Danny Rose’s foul on Edin Dzeko, which earned the Spurs left back a straight red card.

Dzeko stabbed home the third and Stevan Jovetic curled home his first Premier League goal after Etienne Capoue had bundled in a consolation, while captain Vincent Kompany rounded off another emphatic victory.
