It's the most important time of the fantasy baseball season. Playoff season is here and the need for quality performances each night is at an all-time high. In the past week, several stars have been putting together solid performances, but which players have been doing the best?
1. Ryan Zimmerman, Washington Nationals
Zimmerman has been a major part of the September success for the Nationals. Even without Stephen Strasburg, the Nationals keep winning and extending their lead on the Atlanta Braves in the National League East. In the past week, Zimmerman has hit .368 with four home runs, eight RBIs and five runs scored.
2. J.J. Hardy, Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles are in a dog fight for the American League East division title with the New York Yankees and Hardy has been a big reason why. He is hitting just .237 this season, but hit .346 with three home runs, seven RBIs and seven runs in the past week. He is only owned in 70 percent of Yahoo! fantasy baseball leagues, so those in need of extra average and power numbers at the shortstop position can look to Hardy for help in the stretch run.
3. Anthony Gose, Toronto Blue Jays
The rookie is just 36 games into his big league career and while his overall numbers are great, his numbers in the past week have given the Blue Jays hope for the future. He hit .353 with one home run, five RBIs, five runs scored and four stolen bases. In rotisseries leagues, he could be a great pickup for those looking to catch up in steals.
4. B.J. Upton, Tampa Bay Rays
Upton is playing like a man in search of a new contract. The usually under-achieving Upton has played well this past week. He is hitting just .231, but has four solo home runs, three stolen bases and five runs scored.
5. Logan Forsythe, San Diego Padres
Forsythe is a great player in most leagues as well because of his eligibility at second base and third base. In the past week, he has hit .400 with two home runs, six RBIs and seven runs scored.
