Top draft prospects that the Miami Dolphins have hosted
With the NFL Draft now just two weeks away, time is getting thin as it pertains to the evaluation process. Having visited and worked out players since the middle part of this process, teams already have books upon books of information related to just scouting certain prospects and what they should expect if that is the player the team drafts.
Based on the fact that most teams visit with or workout players they intend to draft, let’s take a short look at some of the players Miami has hosted and could consider drafting with their first round selection.

T.J Watt — EDGE — Wisconsin
Involved in a private workout with members of the Miami Dolphins coaching staff, T.J. Watt is someone that fans of the Dolphins should keep their eye on. Considered a late first round pick, it is possible that Miami could reach for him at pick 22 or even trade down to around pick 27 or 28 and still land the younger brother of J.J. Watt.
David Njoku — Tight End — Miami
Making both a local and private visit to the Dolphins facility in Miami, Njoku knows what it’s like to play in Hard Rock Stadium given his college playing days at Miami. While it is unlikely that Miami would draft a first round tight end given their offseason trade for Julius Thomas, the fact that they did visit with him could give local fans of the tight end some hope going forward.
Dan Feeney — Offensive Guard — Indiana
Hosting a private workout with Dan Feeney, this workout would go along with the rising narrative that Miami is high on Feeney. While Forrest Lamp remains the top offensive guard in this draft class, there is a chance that Miami could trade down to earn both extra picks for later in the draft and a more natural picking slot to select Feeney.
Jarrad Davis — Linebacker — Florida
Holding an official visit with the Miami Dolphins, Jarrad Davis could be someone that Miami either takes or even trades down to select this year. A player some see as either a first or second round pick going forward, it will be interesting to see if the Miami Dolphins do consider drafting Davis with the 22nd overall pick in this year’s draft.
Taco Charlton — Defensive End — Michigan
Possessing the ever popular Michigan connection with Stephen Ross, Taco Charlton did come to Miami for an official visit with the team. Given that Miami also needs some youth and depth at the defensive end position, the potential selection of Taco Charlton would make sense and could be one for fans to keep there eyes on.
Malik McDowell — Defensive Tackle — Michigan State
Hosted for a private workout with the Dolphins coaching staff, Miami could seriously be considering adding the defensive tackle out of Michigan State. With Jordan Phillips being inconsistent at best, such a selection would at least give Miami a talented player to pair with Suh on the interior of the defensive line. Such a move would also put the team in the running to have one of the league’s best defensive lines.
