Worst WWE Raw general managers

As WWE Raw approaches its 1,000th episode, it's time to look back at some of its best (and worst) moments in history. One of the most important on-air personalities during most of its episodes has been the general manager. Unfortunately, some of the worst WWE Raw general managers are remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Take a look back at the five worst WWE Raw general managers in history.

5. John Laurinaitis

Some WWE fans may be surprised that I didn't rank Laurinaitis higher among the worst general managers. But as a heel, he is doing his job well if we don't like him. And as a former wrestler, he lends credibility to the general manager position. But his Keanu Reeves-like demeanor and fumbling promos earn him a spot on this WWE Raw list.

4. "The Anonymous Raw General Manager"

If nothing else, "The Anonymous Raw General Manager" gimmick reminds us of how far we've come technologically in two years. Michael Cole receiving emails via laptop seems quaint today given how advanced the WWE has become with Twitter and You Tube. The WWE never revealed who was actually sending Cole those emails.

3. Eric Bischoff

I've never seen someone make a career out of one good idea like Eric Bischoff has. And even he would be the first to admit the invasion storyline he used to launch the NWO had been used before in Japan. Somehow he was the WWE Raw general manager for over three years. Most fans believe his Raw general manager tenure hurt the WWE brand.

2. Celebrity guest hosts

Despite the foibles of the previous three WWE Raw general managers, the two worst general managers are among the worst characters in wrestling history. Words cannot express how angry and disgusted I was at the WWE when celebrity guest hosts served as Raw general manager. I would have watched Hulk Hogan's Micro Wrestling over this.

1. Mike Adamle

And yet, the likes of Seth Green, Al Sharpton and Dennis Miller are not the worst Raw general managers in WWE history. Vince McMahon must have been really grateful for Mike Adamle for trying to save the XFL. I was in emotional and spiritual pain during Adamle's tenure on WWE Raw.

The only thing worse than Mike Adamle being on Raw was Jerry Lawler announcing football games.

Patrick Michael lives in New Orleans and has always been a big fan of pro wrestling. Patrick's favorite wrestling organization was Mid-South Wrestling back in the 1980s.Patrick's favorite wrestling angle of all-time was the NWO and his favorite wrestler was Roddy Piper.
