Tony Romo: Six-Year Extension With Dallas

Update: Romo agreed to a six-year extension with Dallas on Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Recommendation: It puts Romo under contract with Dallas through the 2019 season. Although he's perhaps the league's most accomplished magnet for criticism, a quarterback rating of 95.6 over 3,240 pass attempts clearly illustrates that Romo is well above average. Quarterbacks as good as him aren't found easily, so Dallas paid accordingly. His fantasy value in 2013 will be determined by whether the Cowboys improve their wide receiver depth and starting offensive line. A new playcaller probably wouldn't hurt, either. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the deal contains $55 million in guaranteed money, while ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the deal is worth a total of $108 million.
