Tony Parker put up 30 points to help the San Antonio Spurs beat the Orlando Magic, 121-112. The Spurs had no trouble knocking down shots, finishing 43-81 (53.1%) from the field, including 9-20 (45.0%) from beyond the arc. San Antonio (46-16) has now won six in a row, dating back to a 120-110 victory over the Detroit Pistons on February 26th.
Parker shot 11-19 and went 7-8 from the free throw line, in what was an efficient performance. San Antonio also got solid performances from Manu Ginobili with 24 points and 5 assists, Kawhi Leonard with 17 points and 7 rebounds, and Tiago Splitter with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Tobias Harris scored 23 points off the bench for Orlando on 11-16 shooting. He also tallied 8 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic contributed 19 points and 13 rebounds and Moe Harkless finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Spurs combined an eFG% of 58.6% with 45.0% 3-point shooting. They are 20-2 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Magic, on the other hand, are 2-11 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.
This drops Orlando (19-45) to 0-2 versus San Antonio on the season.
Coming up, the Spurs square off with the Chicago Bulls, who are 34-28 on the season. The Magic match up with the Milwaukee Bucks, currently sitting at 12-49 this year. The Spurs are 0-1 versus Chicago this season. They have won two of their last three meetings with Milwaukee.
