Tony Allen: (Knee) Expects To Be Ready For Opener

Update: Allen, who had a minor operation this offseason to repair cartilage in his left knee, is back on the court and expects to be available for Memphis' season opener, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Recommendation: Allen is still recovering from the arthroscopic surgery, but is hungry to play this upcoming season, adding, "I'm definitely getting myself back to being that thirsty dog. I don't want to rush it. But I'll be back for the first game, Oct. 31, against the (Los Angeles) Clippers. I guarantee that." With Wayne Ellington and Jerryd Bayless now in the Grizzlies' back court rotation, Allen will have competition at shooting guard. However, Allen's steal average and growing offensive contribution warrant fantasy consideration nonetheless.
