Recommendation: The deal -- which will pay Brady a $3 million signing bonus immediately -- is reportedly worth $27 million, a modest figure for a player of his stature, but it's an agreement evidently designed to give the Patriots some valuable salary cap flexibility. For example, with the extra cash, the Patriots can perhaps either lure slot machine Wes Welker back or make a serious run at speedy wideout Mike Wallace.
