DETROIT (AP) -- Julius Brown scored 23 points and Nathan Boothe 15 as Toledo defeated Stony Brook 103-99 on Friday and lifted off to a 4-0 start for the first time in a decade.
Boothe, playing with four fouls, made three straight baskets in the paint after Stony Brook had closed from 10-points down to 86-83. He and Brown hit four free throws in the final eight seconds.
Anthony Jackson scored a game-high - and matched a Stony Brook-record high - 36 points as the Seawolves pushed Toledo to the wire. Each team reached its highest score all season. Jackson dropped seven 3-pointers, four coming late in the game, part of the 2K Sports Classic.
The lead changed hands five times in the first half, but Toledo never trailed in the second, aided by 29 Stony Brook fouls. The Rockets scored 34 from the line - 24 of 31 in the second half.
