The Tennessee Titans have successfully landed the first piece of their offensive puzzle, agreeing to a three-year, $16 million deal with veteran guard Steve Hutchinson, per TitanInsider.com.
Hutchinson, 34, was released recently by the Minnesota Vikings and visited Tennessee on Tuesday, one day before the Peyton Manning saga descened upon Nashville. Hutchinson and Manning are said to be close friends and are represented by the same agency, CAA. It could be a bonus for the Titans as they try to lure Manning back to the state where he starred as a collegian.
Hutchinson, a seven-time Pro Bowl pick, should immediately provide a "nastiness" back to the Titans offensive line that has been missing since the retirement of Kevin Mawae after the 2009 season.
