Titans have big decision to make on RB Johnson

The SportsXchange

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson recently said his future with the team is not certain.

The Titans will have a five-day window after the season to cut running back Chris Johnson without cost to their salary cap.

After the Super Bowl, the Titans will have until Feb. 9 to decide whether or not to keep Johnson without the cap hit. Otherwise, $9 million of Johnson's $10 million salary for 2013 is guaranteed, according to ESPN.com.

Johnson is one of only eight players in NFL history to rush for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first five seasons. He has only missed one game in his career.

This year he has rushed for 1,037 yards on 4.7 yards per carry.

The Titans, however, have struggled to a 4-9 mark heading into Monday night's game against the visiting New York Jets (6-7).
