NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- With their 14th straight loss, the Houston Texans are now on the clock.

Running back Chris Johnson scored the go-ahead touchdown and placekicker Rob Bironas added three field goals Sunday as the Tennessee Titans notched a 16-10 win in both teams' regular-season finale at LP Field.

Houston (2-14) lost every game after rallying for season-opening wins over San Diego and Tennessee, giving it the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Coach Gary Kubiak was fired after loss number 11 on Dec. 5 at Jacksonville and the Texans intend to hire a replacement as early as Tuesday, according to various reports.

The Titans (7-9) won their last two games, which could be enough to keep coach Mike Munchak employed for a fourth season. Tennessee did win one more game than last year and was in the chase for the AFC's second wild-card spot until starting December with three straight losses.

Johnson, who rushed for 125 yards on 29 carries, put the Titans ahead 13-7 with 5:39 remaining in the third quarter on an 11-yard scoring run off right tackle to cap a 35-yard drive.

It came seven plays after Houston quarterback Matt Schaub threw a tipped-ball interception which bounced off Tennessee strong safety Bernard Pollard and was caught by diving linebacker Akeem Ayers at the 40.

Another Schaub mistake -- a fumbled snap on the third play of the fourth quarter which was covered by defensive tackle Sammie Hill at the Texans' 33 -- led to the Titans' clinching score. Bironas drilled a 37-yard field goal with 10:44 left in the game for a 16-7 lead.

Houston scored its only points on the game's first drive, going 63 yards on nine plays to establish a 7-0 lead. Running back Jonathan Grimes finished it with a 3-yard run up the middle for his first NFL touchdown.

Bironas pulled Tennessee within 7-6 at halftime with second-quarter field goals of 42 and 55 yards. The 55-yarder came as time expired.

Kicker Randy Bullock converted a 19-yard field goal with 2:53 left in the game to pull the Texans within six, but Schaub was picked off by free safety Michael Griffin at the Houston 39 with 1:01 remaining to seal the verdict.

Schaub completed 22 of 34 passes for 229 yards, while Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was 15 of 24 for 166 yards and an interception.

NOTES: Tennessee DT Jurrell Casey (knee) and RT David Stewart (shoulder) were among the team's inactives for the season finale. ... LB Joe Mays and QB Case Keenum were inactive for Houston. ... RB Chris Johnson's 23-yard run late in the first half put him over 1,000 yards, the sixth straight season he has been over 1,000. Only five other backs in NFL history have gone over 1,000 in the first six seasons of their career.
