It was a pair of firsts on Saturday, as U.S. right back Timothy Chandler scored his first goal of the season in Nurnberg's first win of the season - a 4-0 demolition of Hoffenheim.

Chandler opened the scoring in the 24th minute, when his deflected strike from distance beat Koen Casteels to give the home side the lead in the first Bundesliga match after the winter break. Daniel Ginczek added a goal and Josip Drmic had a brace to provide the final margin of victory.

The victory was badly needed for Nurnberg, which entered the match in 17th place out of 18 teams, with a 0-6-11 record.

Chandler has been capped 10 times for the U.S., but hasn't featured for Jurgen Klinsmann's side since February, when the Yanks began their Hexagonal campaign with a 2-1 loss at Honduras.
