Timothy Bradley Could Face Robert Guerrero in Dec. 2012: Fan View

Timothy Bradley could face Robert Guerrero in Dec. 2012 if Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions agree to the deal. The two sides have been reported to be mired in negotiations with the rematch clause as one of the problems. The welterweight fight could happen on Dec. 15, and HBO is rumored to be interested.

Timothy Bradley and Robert Guerrero

Timothy Bradley initially wanted a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, but Pacquiao insisted that it would create a boring fight and is facing Juan Manuel Marquez instead. Bradley's next opponent is rumored to be Robert Guerrero. The negotiations between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions continue as the two sides try to work out a deal for a Dec. 15 fight.

Several reports indicate that a rematch clause is causing problems and preventing the deal from being completed. Top Rank allegedly wants a rematch clause included in the contract while Golden Boy Promotions refuses to have one. Money is the second issue that is causing delays as both sides work on the next fight.

Other Possibilities for Timothy Bradley and Robert Guerrero

Although five judges later overturned the decision in his fight with Pacquiao, Timothy Bradley still has the WBO welterweight championship title because regulations prevent its removal. Robert Guerrero remains the most likely option for his next bout, but he is not the only boxer who has been linked to Bradley.

Ruslan Provodnikov has been named as another potential opponent for Timothy Bradley's next fight. It seems that Bob Arum would still prefer Robert Guerrero for Dec. 15, so Provodnikov remains as a second choice if Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions are not able to work out a deal. Ruslan Provodnikov previously mentioned wanting to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, but this will not happen in Dec. because Marquez is facing Pacquiao.

Robert Guerrero still wants a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., and his earlier wish to be in the ring with Manny Pacquiao also has not changed. In July, he pointed out, "The thought process going through my head is positioning myself for that megafight with either Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather." Neither one seems interested in him at this point, so he may settle for Timothy Bradley.
