For 85 years, the best golfers in the United States have been facing off against the best golfers of Europe on a bi-annual basis in the Ryder Cup.

The 2012 edition is scheduled to tee off on September 28-30 at Medinah Country Club in the shadows of Chicago, Illinois. Team Europe has had recent success, winning six of the last eight Ryder Cup titles, but Team USA has had greater success over the long history of the event.
