People are continuing to get more and more creative with their marriage proposals, but this one takes the (wedding) cake.

Five years ago, Jennifer Storrar and Troy Reddington buried a time capsule together on a campsite in South River, Ontario.

They chose that specific campsite because it’s remote, and they knew the chances of their time capsule being stolen or tampered with was highly unlikely.

The couple is still together, and this summer they decided to go back to the campsite to dig it up.

But when they got to the jar, all of the contents they put in five years ago were gone, and in their place was a card.

Storrar was naturally confused until she opened it.

The card read, “Will you marry me?”

But the proposal wasn’t exactly five years in the making. When the couple returned to the campsite in June with the intention of finding the time capsule, Reddington snuck out in the middle of the night to find it first.

He placed the proposal in the time capsule and then pretended like he hadn’t seen it in five years.

Sneaky, but romantic. We like it.

When they dug up the time capsule together, all they found was a peanut butter jar with a note inside. Storrar thought someone had stolen its contents. But we know that didn’t happen.

Reddington stood by anxiously as Storrar read the note.

When he whipped out a ring, Storrar was so confused. She asked, “How did you do that?”

Reddington edited the sweet video together and posted it on YouTube for all to see.

And spoiler alert, she said yes!
